I 3D-printed this little trinket a few weeks ago on my Prusa Core One: a stand to hold a mosquito coil, with an ashtray base to catch the burnt remains of the coil.

The design of the basic tray was one of several choices on printables.com. You can see lele88‘s complete list here:

For my build, I chose PETG filament in an unobtrusive green color that roughly matches the color of the coils, and works well in an outdoors-y landscape setting (not the aspect ratio – the actual outdoor landscape).
I used a scrap of copper wire to fab the center coil support. Copper bends and cuts easily, so it took maybe one minute to make by hand.
It works well in still air, but a breeze tends to blow the coil around, so I’m thinking about designing and printed a simple windscreen in clear PETG. It doesn’t need to be glasslike, and honestly there’s no good reason to use clear filament; I just think it will look great.
In fact, I could print a very similar base with a clear windscreen and put a tea light or other small candle inside, and that would look very good too. I suspect there’s enough distance from a tiny central flame to prevent any deformation of the PETG. We’ll see.
